Shiraz is synonymous with McLaren Vale and this wine is a great example of what the region has to offer. The nose is fragrant and complex with hints of vanilla bean, liquorice and white pepper intermingled against a backdrop of red fruits. Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 Coonawarra is famed for its age-worthy red wines and strip of terra rossa (‘red soil’) – one of the most valuable patches of earth in Australian wine. Cellar doors are packed close together, ready to welcome those who drive the distance. The wine is a bright magenta colour, with a dark garnet red hue, and the palate is elegant and rich, with eucalypt, mint and dark berry fruits accented with luscious fruit cake complexity all contributing to great length with dusty, fine grain tannins at the finish. This is an exceptional wine with all the characteristics of a classic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, with superb balance and depth.
